Sustainable Development Goals

Solicitude for orphans children support group  gives children, women and youth future. If the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are achieved, children, women and youth will have brighter future. This is why we are committed to playing our part in order to ensure the goals are achieved.

We have reviewed all 17 goals and aligned them to our work.

sdg3.pngEnsure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. We do community mobilisation, awareness, sensitisation and involvement on health, nutrition, care and safety in collaboration with health facilities.

sdg4.jpgEducation plays a crucial role in our work to give children brighter future and each of our programme areas works towards ensuring children and young people can access quality education.

sdg5.jpgWe believe that, in order to create empowered communities, we need to ensure girls and boys are empowered equally. We provides vocational, enterprise and life skills training for both genders and our empowerment clubs have gender-specific and combined sessions to encourage children and young people to see both perspectives.

sdg8.jpgA key part of this goal is substantially reduce the proportion of youth not in employment, education or training. This sums up through provision of education and training to ensure youths can earn a reasonable living through employment or self-employment.

sdg10.jpgWe empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status.

To make a difference with climate change, government need to look at renewable energy sources. We compost food scraps which provides manure for the garden. Use reusable bags when going shopping to avoid plastics and spreading awareness about ways to stop global warming.

sdg16.jpgAs well as a network of empowerment clubs. We have trained project participant on how to ensure their voices are heard through civil education. Projects are in the process of setting up Beneficiary Councils which will ensure responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision making at all levels. Stakeholder conferences also help achieve this.
